Our mission is to contribute to the transformation of the international development sector to adapt to the enormous challenges of the current context. It is a space for reflection, learning and collaboration for NGOs and social organisations where we can debate, learn, share and act. This is a global initiative, bringing together voices from different parts of the world, and we hope that yours too can be included.

Puerto de Mbour, Senegal.

| Foto y texto: Pablo Tosco.

We want to contribute to transformation through reflection, learning and collaboration.

OUR ECOSYSTEM

A space to debate, learn, share and act.

Sherwood reflection and knowledge

A space for reflection and debate on the international development community and the work of NGOs, because only in this way can we make an ever better contribution to the enormous challenges facing the planet today. This is where voices from all over the world can be heard.

We will address and discuss one topic per month, sharing opinions, examples of good practice, projects and key people who can help organisations.  For each problem we will ask for a solution, however extravagant it may be.

We deal with issues linked to the programmatic approach, how social transformations are generated, but also with operational issues, because changes are also made with Excel.

Oh, and one important thing, we will treat the issues with as much rigour as possible, but this may go hand in hand with a sense of humour. Criticism is allowed, but not destructive criticism, nor criticism directed at a specific organisation.

Welcome to the Sherwood band!

Collaboration and learning

Do you need help? Do you want to share your learning? This is the place for you.

We have a group of international experts in supporting NGOs in their transformation processes. Contact us and we can help you!

We believe in shared learning. For this reason, we invite you to reflect with us and make this a space for collective usage. To this end, we have a repository of frameworks and procedures that we consider particularly relevant and a list of specialists from whom we learn. Soon we will also create a private forum in which to share experiences and learning. If you or a member of your organisation’s framework would like to join us, please contact us!

At The Sherwood Way, we have developed a methodology to assist NGOs and social organisations in a review of their decolonisation process, incorporation of feminist principles, contribution and systemic changes. We place great importance on adapting the operations of organisations to incorporate the above three axes, without which no transformation is possible.

Project Bank

The Sherwood Way also aims to bring the projects of social organisations closer to donors and potential funders. We provide a bank of projects from around the world that we consider particularly relevant and inspiring.

All selected projects enter the bank after an evaluation and approval by the project committee. Once in Sherwood’s bank, the type of investment needed is validated and potential sources of funding are identified, whether donors, social investment funds, foundations or even crowdfunding if resources are urgently required, with the direct participation of committed people who want to be an active part of change.

How do we propose to continue the reflection?

  • One topic of reflection per month.
  • With articles, interviews or stories of key people.
  • Repository with guides and practical information from various NGOs.
  • List of experts with whom to discuss the topic in depth.
  • Monthly webinars to share experiences.
  • Various channels for joint reflections: forums, WhatsApp groups…
  • Projects bank to inspire us.
  • Make your proposal, share what you know, tell us what you need, be part of the Sherwood band!
